About the Port of Shenzhen
As one of the busiest ports in China, the Port of Shenzhen also belongs on the list of the world’s largest container ports—the third position. The port, which has inaugurated over 130 intermodal freight routes, is also home to the headquarters of about 40 shipping firms and serves 230 global container lines.
The History
Established in 1980, the Port of Shenzhen had its entire investment made up to 60 billion yuan (or around USD 9 billion). The end of 2010 saw the construction of approximately more than 170 ship berths, including 69 berths holding a volume up to 100,000 tons and 44 berths for container ships.
